What's better than getting together with a group of friends? Getting together with a group of strangers and then leaving with new friends.
That's exactly how we would describe our "meet ups." While building a coalition of viewers (AKA the Everyday Fam!) across social media is great, nothing beats face-to-face interpersonal interactions. Over the past few years we've held a variety of these small (and large) gatherings where followers can come meet up with us for a few hours and hang out.
But for our latest meet up, we wanted to do something a little different. We wanted to channel our collective energies into positive action and help give back. Having recently toured the LA LGBT Center and learned about the myriad services they provide, many of which are specifically for disadvantaged youth, we knew that this was the perfect partnership.
In the end, I'm not sure what was better: the fact that we raised over $4,000 in 48 hours, collected a Jeep-full of lightly-used shoes and clothing, or got to spend the afternoon with so many happy, smiling faces.
From this event's ideation to its fruition, we had a great time. We hope you can join us at our next one. :)
